Abstract:
The Morro Bay Watershed Fire Management Plan identifies several strategies for implementing a wildland fire and fuels management program that: - Reduces the likelihood of large, catastrophic fires - Reduces the adverse watershed impacts of disturbance-based wildfire suppression activities - Incorporates wildland fire and fuels management activities into Morro Bay Estuary Watershed restoration projects - Increases public awareness of the linkages between wildland fire and the health of the estuary - Provides for a healthy estuary ecosystem, functional watersheds and fire safe communities
